Carmen grew up in upstate New York. After spending 4 years in the military he went back to school and graduated with honors from Monmouth University.

He is not a pundit or a PhD. He is a conservative leaning blue collar entrepreneur who has been involved in multiple businesses over the last 32 years (all of them successful). Most of his business career has been spent in the motel and restaurant industry. He also spent 9 years in a computer related business during the 1980’s and 1990’s.

Currently he and his wife of 47 years are still in the motel and restaurant business in a small resort town in upstate New York. They have three married children and 8 grandchildren. They spend half their year in upstate New York and the other half in South Carolina.
